This really hits the mark, a three pointer (sorry). I’m volunteering at the Malhuer National Wildlife Refuge VC this month, built largely by the CCC. The need for a new CCC in this country is achingly apparent. The toughened people able to survive outdoors 24/7 would flourish in the clean air, 3 meals a day, a clean safe place to bunk, and most importantly, a sense of accomplishment and the pride that comes with building something tangible. The trades are crying out for semi skilled workers to hire who then go on to highly skilled workers, trained everyday by doing the work in front of them.

Build back America, should be build back Americans! People are so tired of the social ills around us, yet fail to see the social good which examples like the CCC have proven. I talked to a woman who’s father was on the streets on the east coast in the 1920s, given the opportunity to work for the CCC out here and like 75% of his coworkers, never looked back.

I’m reading Sagebrush Collaboration by Peter Walker, it’s opening up my perspective on the people of Harney County, that they are not all Bundy supporters, but people who for the most part think for themselves and want practical solutions.

Thanks for your work, I hope you know that it does reach people, me at least.
