Matt, you are educated and insightful enough to know if you read a similar narrative from a person you knew, that you would strongly advise him to take advantage of some counseling. Why does getting some counseling "inure you to the crisis?" With all due respect and realizing that you are smarter than I, that is BS. It would help you personally and also enable you, if you desire, to continue the effective mentoring for the people you are helping.
