Your comments are well taken, Matt, but I don't think you should totally give up on bureaucracies - because the homeless problem is too big for individuals to solve and transcends the capabilities of most organizations acting on their own.
That said, it takes a fresh approach and organizations working together with people who can recognize the typical bureaucratic BS and statistics which don't make sense. Someone like you who can provide a meaningful narrative and who has the experience to cast a critical eye on what is being done can be very effective given all of the financial resources now available to solve the problem. Your writing can be a powerful tool, but so can your involvement in the right place.
